He had a sports talk-radio show here in Portland with Mychael Thompson back in the day and he owned a restaurant not far from where I lived. Went to his place to watch De Lay Hoya vs. Ruelas fight back in like 1995. He paid a shit-ton of money for that fight, too... back before DirecTV and such were around, and when restaurants and bars had to pay like 5k or more to "sponsor" an event and could not charge an entry fee... they simply hoped to make it up with sales revenue. Well, the fight was over in like 1.5 rounds and everyone left immediately. Dude lost his shirt. Just before I left I made some comment about the place clearing out quicker than the Tomjonovich Family Christmas with Kermit Washington coming down the chimney. He scolded me. I felt kinda bad.
